And I wonder who will save chivalry….
Ladies…….
I’m looking at you
This is the time of equal opportunity
and 3rd wave feminism
I could use a princess in shining armor
to pick up a tab on occasion,
hold the door for me
save me from the obnoxiously drunk girl
who wears her life’s mistakes like makeup telling me
that “I’m really nice and we should go hang out”
as she keeps touching me

Now don’t take this as
weakness and desperation
I just don’t feel emasculated that easy,
my manhood wont be crippled by the equal sex
showing me up, or giving a hand…..
Hell, that kind of thing will only turn me on….
I know you possess strength through nature
that many men try and create themselves
through destruction and pissing contests
only to be stuck within insecurities
knowing their strength is forced
and is only relevant in opposition to something

Lets realize that chivalry
is not about knights and fighting valiantly
for the conquest of love and being worthy to have it.
woman is not an idealized prize that feats of strength earn.

Chivalry- from the French word Cheval- meaning horse,
a knight in French is known as Chevalier.
And this was NOT the origins of the core values of chivalry
14th century romanticism with knights
and the code of chivalry
is a gross misrepresentation of the originators of this ideal…..

The Goths,
Barbarians and the scourge of civilizations,
destroyer of the roman empire
rode in on horses with ferocity unmatched by anyone…..
At, home they revered their women,
and sought their advice in all matters,
military or otherwise.
Woman were backbones and well of strength,
intelligence and love.
Not docile, not helpless,
Not to be won, or adorned.

So if chivalry is dead……
women, you can evoke the real spirit of chivalry,
as equals, take a lead, respect your view,
and progress the men around you
stuck in misogynistic fairytales of damsels in distress…..
Break them out of their distress and own the true idea
worth both woman and man in chivalry

and maybe we can slay a dragon together.
